Packing and Cleaning

This past week of my life has been insane! Every day was spent packing/cleaning/moving/stressing and barely sleeping. (I put more emphasis on the "stressing" part). Doing a complete 180 with your life in less than a month, dropping everything and moving across the country can really take a toll on a girl. I did manage to stay on schedule (the day-to-day schedule I made for myself) though and I am happy to say the apartment is now empty. It only took 1 trip to CT, 3-4 trips to Davis Square and 3 trips to Rutland, MA. The next fun part will be the final sorting of what is coming to NV with me and what isn't. Oui. Updates to come.

My new departure date is now August 11th - mid day.

The process begins..

As my Dad would say, "I don't need anymore stuff in my life." So I started packing today. Well, that was the plan anyway but then I realized that before I can do that I needed to get rid of a lot of stuff. I am taking my car to Nevada and whatever will fit into it and that's it. I ended up getting rid of about 4 garbage bags full of said stuff and am giving about 2 bags worth of clothes to Goodwill. It felt amazing! It was so liberating!! :) I'd suggest it to anyone. Needless to say, no "packing" actually got accomplished but I feel when I do get around to it, it'll be that much easier.

Nevada

As some of you may know, I dread winter. And I'm sure my friends can tell you that over the past couple years, I've been saying I wasn't going to stay in New England another winter yet have always ended up still here, enduring The Great Darkness. However! I am finally following through with it. Starting August 11th (not set in stone) I will be taking a cross country trip to move to Nevada! I just got a job through Americorp with the Nevada Conservation Corps (NCC) and will be camping/working/playing around in the desert for the next year.

I am really excited about this new adventure though I will deeply miss my friends and family (especially Todd & Amanda who JUST moved back from the west coast-great timing Lynne). I am going to attempt to keep this blog going throughout the year to let you know where I am and what kind of work I'll be doing. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as (I think) I'll enjoy this job!
